It’s All About the Shape… Oh and this hearty breakie!

So it’s not Valentine’s Day…

But who doesn’t love waking up to a heart-shaped breakfast?

Adds a little cuteness to the morning!

Cute eh?

This breakfast is not only hearty (in shape), but it’s hearty as well… will keep you going till lunch time! – ANDDD it’s heart healthy… WOW!

This Overnight Hearty Coconut Breakfast Cookie had:

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1tbs chia seeds
  • 1/2 half mashed ripe banana
  • 1 tbs melted  virgin coconut oil

*Thoroughly mix all the ingredients into a bowl and place the mixture on a small plate. Shape into any desired cookie form of your liking- cover and refrigerate overnight!

I topped the cookie with a mixed berry protein jam/frosting that I also made last night.

This frosting consisted of:

  • 1/3 cup frozen berries
  • 2/3 scoop good vanilla protein powder
  • 1/2 tbs chia seeds
  • splash of non-dairy milk

*I microwaved all the ingredients in a microwave safe bowl until the berries were soft and melty. Stir well, cover, and refrigerate over night! Simple as that!

Speaking of food- shapes.

Did you know that the shape of our food can actually tell us what parts of our bodies it’s good for?

For example:

Walnuts are shaped like a brain - and they so happen to be great for brain function!

A sliced carrot looks like the human eye- and we all know that eating lots of carrots can turn you orange enhance your vision!

That's right- Eating zucchinis, bananas, and cucumbers can be very beneficial and great for improving the health of that male organ...If you know what I'm sayin. So eat up fellas!

Sweet potatoes shaped like the pancreas- good for balancing glycemic index of diabetics.

So I think you catch my drift- Believe it or not, I think this is a pretty neat little discovery. For more examples of food shapes in relation to their benefits go to this site (where I got my info from).

Don’t get too excited though, a six pack of beer may resemble a six pack of abs… but this “food shape” thing only applies to unprocessed whole foods. SORRY!

Can you think of any other food-body-part resemblances and what they might be good for?

Thanks for reading!
