Is That Pizza? No Silly, It’s Hummus! anndd HUGH JASS salads.

After yesterday’s hummus post. I’ve had Pizza Hummus on my mind.

I had to make it!

And I did make it!

I rushed home from my classes, whipped out my magic bullet, and got blending!

Semi Spicy Pizza Hummus = So good!

This was such a cool change from the traditional hummus flavors I am used to! It was delicious. I think you should probably make some. It takes NO time and tastes SO fine!

I adapted my recipe from this recipe:

Semi Spicy, Fully Tasty, Pizza Hummus

  • 1 can garbanzo beans (15 oz.) – drained, but keep liquid
  • 4 tbs. garbanzo bean liquid
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 1 small lemon (juiced)
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 4 tbs nutritional yeast
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 10 drops (or more) Tobasco Sauce
  • 2 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • Salt and Pepper (to taste)

* Add all ingredients into a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. (If it does not blend well, add some water until the consistency is nice and hummus-y.)

I forced kindly asked my roommates to try it, and they were impressed! One of them said it really did taste like pizza!

After gobbling a bunch of this down. My appetite wasn’t at its peak, so I decided to use up all the veggies in my fridge and make a hugh jass salad.

Cucumber, celery, roasted red peppers, kalamata olives - topped with spiced mix nuts and lemon tahini dressing! Hit the spot!

I’ll admit it, I am a salad kinda girl. I usually eat some sort of salad every day. I love salad because I love fresh veggies and their crunchy goodness. I also love salad because of the 580432598-0439285 different variations, types, toppings, combinations, dressing, and goodies that can be added.

To make a salad filling though, I always make sure to add some protein and some healthy fat (like avocado, or a healthy dressing)…

Don’t give me a couple of pieces of lettuce drenched in dressing and expect me to be overjoyed. I like, BIG, CRUNCHY, YUMMY, VEGGIE-FILLED, HUGH JASS SALADS!

Okay I have spoken my salad peace… Here some other salads I have enjoyed recently:

Midnight snack salad!Spinach, kelp noodles, veggie burger, and lemon tahini dressing.

Spinach, butternut squash, roasted red peppers, lemon tahini dressing. - Topped with to over easy eggs and ketchup. This may seem like a weird combo (salad, dressing, and ketchup) but it was quite delicious!

Spinach, red pepper, cucumber, kalamata olives, veggie burger, pumpkin seeds, topped with lemon olive oil!

This may sound weird, but I used to sometimes be embarrassed ordering salads in restaurants with friends because I felt like I would be judged as THAT girl (the health conscious salad-ordering type of girl).

Welp, news flash to me! I am THAT girl…

And I will order salads when I feel like it!

  1. Your salads all look super yummy! Much more interesting than the lettuce, cucumber and tomato I plonk on the side of the plate lol! Youe inspired me to make some more adventurous salads this summer!
