About Ellie

Hey there! I’m Ellie!

I’m an undergraduate university student with a large passion for all things healthy. Thanks to my madre, the beautiful gal pictured below to the right of me, I grew up entouraged by an abundance of nutritious foods. Ever since I was a wee little one I’ve loved weird tasting “health food.”

Here’s a list of things other than my boyfriend, friends, and family that I also love dearly.

To be fair to my loves- they’re in alphabetical order πŸ˜‰

  • Avocados
  • Baby Carrots
  • Bikram Yoga
  • Coconut in all shapes/forms/sizes/textures
  • Cooking
  • Elephants
  • HUMMUS! (couldn’t live without it)
  • Large Dangly Earrings
  • Lululemon
  • My Bodum Travel Mug
  • Naps
  • Oats
  • Nut/Seed Butters (especially this Almond Butter)
  • Reading Blogs and Cook Books
  • Red Wine
  • Sweet Potatoes
  • Tea

*Disclaimer: What I refer to as “healthy” comes from my own research, knowledge and opinions. I’m not a professional, so bare with me. What may be healthy/yummy/fantastic for me, may be completely not healthy/yummy/fantastic for you!

PS: Where did you find Peanut Flour? Sounds awesome.

    • Hey Mel! So happy you checked out my blog! I got my peanut flour at iherb.com- I haven’t seen it in any of the stores i go to, but you for sure can get it online! It’s worth it! So yummy!

Hi, you have a nice blog here and you and your mom are very pretty.

I saw a picture of inside your fridge in a post and noticed I just bought that “fontaine sante” hummus also. I bought the “roasted garlic” so I hope it is good. I usually don’t eat beans because I have digestive troubles, but it looks too good to pass up.

I’d love to know what a typical day of eats are for you? (you can email me maybe if you don’t mind). I’m struggling with how to make meals and snacks now. I tend to binge a lot at night. I am not vegetarian, but do like your site. I do walking for a daily activity.

Hey Ellie, I am going to buy a can of pumpkin and try some on my face…but seriously, I will:) Love you!

  4. Are you from Vancouver Canada? Or do you live in the states? I live close to Vancouver, BC (Canada) so I’m just curious! πŸ™‚ Love your blog by the way! I eat pretty much the same food you do! And I’m a huge fan of LARGE salads with everything in them..including hummus and fried eggs! mmm mmm!

  5. Hey! Just wondering if you’re from Vancouver BC? Or Vancouver in WA? I live close to Van BC. So I’m just curious πŸ˜€

  6. Oh sweet! haha to be honest I’m not a huge fan of living here..the rain depresses me!! The city is beautiful though! πŸ™‚ Anyways, just started reading your blog! I love it! πŸ™‚ We eat very similarly and share an obsession with hummus πŸ™‚

    • Thank you for the compliments on the blog! I’m really happy you like it!

I’m originally from Montreal so I think the lack of cold weather winters here is what really attracts me! I love it! Although it’s true, the rain can get a bit gloomy!

Hummus all the way! Do you make it or buy it? What’s your favorite store bought brand? So far for me it’s Fontaine Sante, but always looking to to expand my hummus brand horizons!

      • I definitely buy my hummus! I would LOVE to make it, but we live in a very tiny 1 bedroom apartment and my son (7 months old) cannot stand the sound of the food processor..like he screams violently when I turn it on..so I have not been able to use it much since he’s been born. I kind of just buy whichever namebrand is on sale.. but my favorite is Sabra, tribe or some other garden one i don’t remember but is usually on sale at superstore. I think I’ve tried the brand you mentioned once or twice, and I’m sure I loved it..I think there was only one namebrand I didn’t like and then I found out it had dairy in it..so that was prob why ( i cannot stomach dairy at all).
